Mission & Purpose
Who We Are
The Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies, Inc. (CCFSA) is a statewide network of independent, non-profit, family service agencies that deliver services from over 90 offices located throughout the state of Connecticut. Member Agencies are community-based, licensed by the State of CT and nationally accredited. Governed by volunteer boards of directors drawn from their respective communities, Family Service Agencies have been effectively serving CT families for over 100 years. CCFSA employs a professional staff to assist in achieving its mission.
Our Mission
Our mission is to be the premier resource to strengthen CT’s diverse individuals and families, and the communities in which they live. To accomplish this mission, we will build member agencies’ capacity for collaboration and innovation; advocate for the development of State and Federal policies and programs that will foster the well-being of CT’s children, adults and families; develop and provide services that empower them to move toward self-reliance and healthy inter-dependence; and be relevant and responsive to CT’s diverse populations.
Who We Serve
Each year, CCFSA Member Agencies serve over 100,000 families, making
this one of the largest associations of non-governmental providers
of services to CT’s children, youth, adults and their families.
They provide professional services to the poor, the middle class
and the affluent in 90 offices located throughout CT. Currently,
member agencies serve as a statewide provider network for two CCFSA
programs – The welfare-to-work Empowering People for Success
Program (EPS), and the court mandated Parent Education Program (PEP)
for parents involved in divorce or child custody proceedings.
How We're Funded
The combined annual budgets of CCFSA member agencies total more than $80 million. Funding sources include federal, state and municipal
government; local United Ways; Foundations; contributions from individuals
and businesses; and client fees.
