Family & Children’s Agency (FCA) is a non-profit family service agency located in Norwalk that meets the needs of more than 10,000 individuals--including children, adults, and families--throughout Fairfield County and beyond. Skilled professionals serve clients in seven primary impact areas: youth development, family strengthening, foster care, adoption, behavioral health, homeless service, and services for seniors.

PRIMARY IMPACT AREAS

  • Youth Development – FCA’s Youth Development programs promote positive youth development through mentoring, after school programming, and gender-based services.
     
  • Family Strengthening - FCA works to prevent child abuse and neglect through parenting education, support, and home visits. We also help guide families back to a place of safety and stability for themselves and their children.
     
  • Foster Care - FCA’s Foster Care program places medically fragile and behaviorally complex children in loving homes and provides ongoing support services.
     
  • Adoption - FCA’s Adoption Program provides home studies, birth parent counseling, adoption placement, and post-placement support to families adopting both domestically and abroad.
     
  • Behavioral Health - FCA provides outpatient counseling, intensive programming for substance abusing women (Project REWARD), as well as intensive in-home child and adolescent psychiatric services (IICAPS) for children and their families.
     
  • Homeless Services - FCA’s Homeless Services offers a continuum of support for adults experiencing homelessness through case management, social rehabilitation, vocational counseling, and supportive housing services.
     
  • Services for Seniors - FCA’s HomeCare Plus serves individuals and seniors who wish to live independently in their own homes with in-home companions, home repair, home health aides, live-in services, and Lifeline’s personal emergency response system.
