The institution of the American family is unique and in need of support. While different groups such as couples, children and seniors all possess their unique issues and needs, the family is where they all intersect and reach a critical mass. Our state and our nation must recognize and value the family as the basic building block of our society and ensure the availability of the resources required to ensure the health of this vital institution.
