Robert Muro, Ph.D. is both honored and excited to be the new President and Chief Executive Officer at the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies and to lead the organization into the next chapter of its illustrious history, strengthening and empowering families throughout the state of Connecticut.  Prior to joining CCFSA, Bob was in administrative leadership roles at several non-profits, including Catholic Charities-Archdiocese of Hartford, Lifebridge Community Services in Bridgeport, CT, and Community Mental Health Affiliates in New Britain, CT, as well as two for-profit healthcare organizations.

Bob has been a passionate advocate for improving the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.  Prior to his executive leadership roles, he worked for many years in direct patient care as a bilingual psychologist, providing psychological evaluations and psychotherapy.  With a background in healthcare integration, he was among the first in the state to develop a fully integrated behavioral health practice in a primary care setting.  Over the course of his 23-year career, Bob has worked in community-based, faith-based, social service, hospital, home health, behavioral health, and primary care organizations, and, as a result, has a deep understanding and commitment to developing innovative services and collaborations that address health disparities and create healthy communities.

Bob received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Bridgeport and Southern Connecticut State University respectively, and obtained a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Indiana State University.  He is a licensed Psychologist in Connecticut.  He has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations over the years and is also a Fellow of the Connecticut Health Foundation.  He enjoys sports, fitness, salsa dancing, and coaching.  He lives with his wife and three daughters in Southington, CT.
