We also honor someone who has made extraordinary contributions to strengthening families with the Dan O'Connell Lifetime Achievement Award. The Connecticut General Assembly’s Commissions, Labor Committee, and 2GEN Advisory Council are co-sponsoring a forum, "The Future Works: Connecticut’s Economy on the Rise," on Thursday, April 18, 2019, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in Room 2D of the Legislative Office Building.
The keynote presentation will be given by Boston Fed Senior Economist and Director of the New England Public Policy Center, Dr. Jeffrey Thompson.
Following Dr. Thompson's presentation, a diverse of panel of speakers, including bipartisan representatives from key committees of the Connecticut General Assembly, Department of Labor, and Office of Policy and Management, business leaders and thinkers, parents, and philanthropists, will provide a response.
The forum is open to the public and will likely be broadcast on CT-N.

Childhood Conversations, Together We Will, and the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) present the Together We Will Conference.
Conference Theme: “Together We Will…Learn to Support and Develop Children’s Social Emotional Skills to Reduce Challenging Behaviors, Strengthen Families and Communities”
Workshop sessions address the following specific groups: Parents, Parenting Educators, Early Childhood Teachers/Caregivers, Elementary Teachers, Mental Health Providers, After School Professionals, and Early Intervention Providers. The conference is open to anyone that shares an interest in the betterment of communities, children, and families.
